Pulcino d’Oro has taken another significant step forward in its global expansion. The first edition of the tournament in Germany was a resounding success, confirming the strength of a project that, year after year, stands out not only for its technical quality but also for the depth of the values it embodies. The winners were Nuremberg, a team from the Zweite Bundesliga, who managed to come out on top against sides from the Bundesliga and the top division of the Czech Republic. In a setting that was impeccable in terms of organisation and participation, the tournament reaffirmed its identity. It is not simply a football event, but a project that seeks to convey its values.
Today more than ever, the Pulcino d’Oro is an international training ground where young footballers learn the true spirit of sport — competing fairly, respecting their opponents, and growing together. And that is exactly how it was in Germany. Crucial to this scenario was the contribution of the local organisations, coordinated with precision and passion by RB Leipzig — one of the most advanced talent factories on the European scene — and by Taucha, a deeply rooted institution in the Saxon region. A synergy that ensured high standards, both on and off the pitch.
The real stars of the show were the Under-11s, the Pulcini age group, who put on a display of intense and dynamic football. This was always accompanied by exemplary behaviour both on and off the pitch. Pace, quality and respect for the rules were the hallmarks of an event that continues to grow in prestige and international recognition. On the sporting front, the main trophy was won by Nuremberg, following a brilliant campaign that saw them finish ahead of teams of the calibre of RB Leipzig, Wolfsburg and the Czech side Slavia Prague. Carl Zeiss Jena won the Pulcino di Bronzo, whilst the Pulcino Gialloblù went to Würzburg ahead of Don Bosco Bamberg and Borea Dresden. The German tournament, held on the pitches at Taucha, forms part of an increasingly varied and international calendar.
Following the European legs in Portugal and Germany and the initial regional stages in Puglia and Campania, the Pulcino d’Oro is ready to continue its journey. Over the weekend of 28 and 29 March, the Pulcino d’Oro will stop off in Rome, at the grounds of partner club Nuova Tor Tre Teste — a historic powerhouse of Roman youth football, with Italian titles to its name — and in Umbria, at the home of partners Castiglione del Lago, in the province of Perugia. Two major events preceding the subsequent spring stages.
The highlight of the season will, as always, be the International Tournament, scheduled to take place in Trentino, in the heart of the Valsugana, with Levico Terme as the nerve centre of the event, from Thursday 11 to Sunday 14 June.
A journey that continues to expand, whilst keeping its essence intact.
