The Regional Tournament Pulcino d’Oro Veneto, in Bovolone, in the province of Verona was a celebration. The last stage of the approach to the 2024 Pulcino d’Oro International Tournament, staged on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 May, recorded huge numbers for sports associations present and the public. Indeed, 40 teams at the starting line in the splendid Cavallaro sports facility, for two days full of football and fun. 32 teams for the Pulcino d’Oro and 8 for the brand new Pulcino d’Oro Girls. The Partner Company Asd Bovolone 1918 –in its fourth year as organizer of the Venetian regional phase – again showed great efficiency in the organization. Now everything is really ready for the International Tournament which will be played in Trentino, in Valsugana from Thursday 13th to Sunday 16th June.
The flight of the Pulcino d’Oro over the whole of Italy and abroad, from Saturday 17 February in England to Leeds to Sunday 12 May in Bovolone was long and intense. Around 300 football clubs at the starting line of the regional and European stages of the Pulcino d’Oro in just a few months. From South Tyrol to Sicily and Puglia, passing through Emilia-Romagna, Trentino, Veneto, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Lombardy, Lazio, Marche and Campania. Without forgetting the debut of the Pulcino d’Oro Holland in mid-March. A continuous and irrepressible race throughout Italy for a symbolic embrace of the “Bel Paese” and Europe.
In Bovolone he raised the Golden Chick Montebelluna to the sky, in a no-holds-barred head-to-head with the Veronese side Alba Borgo Roma. The Silver Chick was won by Liventina Opitergina, already winner of the Golden Chick in the last edition, ahead of Alpo Lepanto, Union Clodiense Chioggia and Montecchio Maggiore. The Bronze Chick went to La Rocca Monselice ahead of Real Grezzanalugo while the Yellow and Blue one went to Baldo Junior Team, ahead of Ponzano Calcio, Bovolone and Città di Caorle – La Salute. The Arcobaleno Pulcini won it respectively Asd Bovolone 1918 Rosso, Dolomiti Bellunesi, Calcio Montegrotto Terme and Polisportiva San Pio.
The first Pulcino d’Oro Girls was spectacular, compelling until the last minute. Cittadella Women was awarded the coveted trophy ahead of Treviso Women who won Pulcino d’Argento. Immediately behind Lady Maerne and Venera Calcio. Pulcino di Bronzo at La Rocca Monselice, with Chievo Verona Women and Baldo Junior Team immediately behind.
The focus now will be entirely on the Pulcino d’Oro International Tournament. The 48 teams registered for the event are already ready to take to the playing fields. The most successful Italian clubs Juventus, Inter and Milan were present, with top-level clubs such as Roma and Atalanta. PSV Eindhoven returns from Holland together with AZ Alkmaar while Leeds United and Sunderland will be from England. From Portugal Benfica, with Argentinians River Plate eager to defend their 2023 success. From Spain debut for Atletico Madrid. In parallel, the Pulcino d’Oro Girls Tournament will be held for the first time, an event open only to women’s football. Among the participants are prominent teams such as Inter, Milan, Juventus and Roma.
Together with the baby talents of these top Italian and European clubs, the vast world of amateur football will also arrive in Trentino, in Valsugana. For a total of around 1,500 promising young players aged 9, 10 and 11 who will create more than 300 exciting matches. All in four days, on the playing fields of Borgo, Caldonazzo and Levico Terme, from Thursday 13 June with the first matches, Friday 14 June will be the turn of the opening ceremony and the parade of the participating teams through the center of Levico Terme up to the Habsburg park. Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th June, therefore, will come the races in which the top clubs come into play, with the matches that will determine who will lift Pulcino d’Oro, Pulcino d’Argento, Pulcino di Bronzo, Pulcino Giallo-blù e quattro Pulcino Arcobaleno.

In these phases of rapprochement, I saw people looking out for Pulcino d’Oro for the first time and, in addition to complimenting us, reiterating that they had never seen a tournament like ours. It’s petrol for our engine. We know how many requests to participate in the International phase and we will certainly aim to implement the number of companies present. From 13 to 16 June we will have top clubs in our Trentino that are increasingly top. We can say that this event never ceases to amaze us.
