The eleventh edition of the Pulcino d’Oro International Tournament, one of the most eagerly awaited events on the youth football calendar, was unveiled on the afternoon of Wednesday 3 June in the picturesque setting of the Levico Thermal Baths. The event will take place from 11 to 14 June and will feature 88 teams – 64 boys’ teams and 24 girls’ teams competing in the Pulcino d’Oro Girls tournament – as well as 18 schools and around 500 volunteers.
Numerous institutional guests and local representatives attended the press conference, during which the values and positive impacts that the tournament generates, both in sporting and social terms, were highlighted.
Gianpiero Passamani, president of Terme, opened the proceedings, expressing his satisfaction at hosting the final stage of the competition and explaining: “We believe in this event because it embodies sound principles. It is an honour for our young players to compete against prestigious teams. This helps break down barriers, offering young people the opportunity to measure themselves against top-level national and international sporting sides.”
Michele Oriente, director of the Valsugana Tourist Board (APT), spoke about the event’s importance for the local area: ‘This tournament gives us the greatest satisfaction and is also a benefit for the whole valley.’ Francesca Gerosa, Councillor for Education, Culture, Youth and Equal Opportunities for the Autonomous Province of Trento, highlighted the social value of the event: ‘It’s not something to be taken for granted that we believe in it so much. The Pulcino d’Oro is a deeply meaningful opportunity that allows us to experience sport in a new way, addressing issues such as inclusivity, accessibility and the right to belong. The involvement of so many schools is a source of enormous satisfaction for us. I’d like to highlight the project carried out with ITE Tambosi. The mural and the work done with the pupils with special educational needs is truly a source of great satisfaction.” “This is one of the most important events in our area,” comments the mayor of Levico Terme, Gianni Beretta. “For this occasion, the whole of Levico is decked out in festive decorations. We’re proud of this.”
Andrea Fontanari, president of the Alta Valsugana and Bersntol Community, described the Pulcino d’Oro as ‘an example for all neighbouring communities. “I’ve been following the Pulcino for years and I’m always fascinated by it. Lots of football, lots of colour, but also a Pulcino Village that really captures everyone’s attention.” Franco Senesi, president of the Fondazione Cassa Rurale Alta Valsugana and one of the Pulcino d’Oro’s earliest supporters, emphasises: “The tournament is a breath of fresh air and generates real enthusiasm.”
Once again, the Pulcino d’Oro has proved itself to be an event that brings together sport, inclusion, education and the promotion of the local area. Now, the wait is over. The countdown can begin.

Pulcino d’Oro and the Degasperi Institute in Borgo Valsugana are joining forces, with a vision that extends beyond the playing field. This long-standing partnership with the world of education is enriched by a crucial new chapter, one that brings together the students’ creative energy with the practical needs of the local community. Students on the CAT (Construction, Environment and Territory) course took centre stage in a unique experience of active citizenship and work-based learning. Putting the technical, urban planning and cartographic skills they had acquired during the school year into practice, the students worked on the design and creation of an exclusive tourist and cultural map of Levico Terme. A real-world task for a real client, which transformed classroom theory into a practical tool available to the community.
