The first regional Golden Chick tournament in Apulia was a triumph. For the plays seen on the playing fields, some of these are truly spectacular, for the large audience and for the fair play shown by the young players. After the European stages in England and Holland, the regional phases in Italy in Campania in Caserta, in Lazio in Rome and in Trentino in Lavis, the flight of the Pulcino touched the city of Bari for the first time. On the weekend of 13 and 14 April, at the Levante Azzurro sports centre, under a magnificent sun, the sixteen teams present gave life to an event as spectacular as it was disciplined. Made of technique, determination and a lot of fun. The respect for the opponent, the rhythms and rules breathed between the baby footballers, their coaches, the referees and all the parents present, so many in the audience, was textbook.
The Football School of the world champion in 1982 wearing the shirt of the Italian national team Franco Selvaggi Matera managed to get the better of the Football Academy Andria in a compelling finish, thus lifting the coveted trophy. It was precisely the last match to decide the winner. In the group for the awarding of the Golden Chick, Virtus Foggia and Victor Andria came in third and fourth place respectively. The Silver Chick was won by hosts Levante Azzurro ahead of Invictus Lam, Evolution Altamura and Free Time. The Bronze Chick went to Pro Calcio while the Yellow and Blue Chick went to Nick Calcio Bari.
The strong demand for the participation of the teams on Italian territory, prompted the Organizing Committee of the Golden Chick to commit to the regional tournaments for the fourth year, choosing for structure and quality partner companies capable of managing this type of event. The Levante Azzurro Partner Company was able to interpret the spirit of the event. Demonstrating strong motivation and preparation from the start. Passion and organization made it possible to make the event top-level.
The regional stages of April 2024 do not stop there. From Saturday 20th to Sunday 28th, 5 Golden Chick tournaments will be staged. From South Tyrol on the 20th to the 3 days in Sicily which will end on the 28th, passing through Friuli Venezia Giulia on the 21st April, Marche on the 25th and Lombardy, Milan, on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th. The Golden Chick is flying all over Italy and Europe, with mind-boggling numbers. There are 13 regional stages and 2 European ones for the 2024 edition. There are more than 300 sports clubs involved. There is a lot of excitement for the next 5 stages, which will then be followed in May by the regional phases in Emilia Romagna and Veneto.
The next participants in the Pulcino d’Oro International Tournament, which will experience another spectacular, global edition from Thursday 13th to Sunday 16th June, will be sanctioned by the upcoming stages. For the last act in Trentino there will be great news like every year. One of the aspects that distinguishes the Pulcino d’Oro International Tournament is that of offering the opportunity to the great world of amateur football to compete with the professional one, creating the conditions for a moment of exchange and growth, both from a human and from more strictly sporting point of view.
Roma and the new Atalanta have been added to the three most successful Italian clubs Juventus, Inter and Milan, in the batch of entries for the 2024 Pulcino d’Oro International Tournament. Promising young PSV Eindhoven and novelty AZ Alkmaar will return from the Netherlands, with Argentinians River Plate looking to defend their title.
First, however, everything is ready for the next regional stages of the Golden Chick.
